what i love about this show is that its all about what YOU see. each time you take a lap of the halls something new pops into your fied of vision. mainly i think its nice not to think of trends and whats new……..its the idea anything can work as long as you love it and want to have it in your space. so display your own collection of stuff and be happy and proud.

my friend simon and i were visiting our friend charlene mullens stand at maison & object . simon was demonstrating how to strangle the lovely lavender doorstop “bandit” the cat. the japanese buyers on the stand thought the cat was a pretend pet that you cuddle and stroke………a bit like the cafes you go to and pay for the pleasure of feline company. anyway they cried out in horror and simon had to pretend he was just playing with bandit. ha busted.

when i saw this wall of 1970′s girls in a beautiful twirling costumes i thought if i had found a stick i might just march down the road myself. below the top picture the photographer has caught people doing just that. to funny. found in the marais.

Off to Paris in a couple of days for the shows and on the hunt for a new look for strangetrader summer…..
we are looking for more fashion in the store. Of course colourful colour will be top of the list. Fingers crossed!!!
oh, and the weather in Paris is rain rain and 18 degrees…. that’s nearly 20 down from what i am used to in Turkey!.. which brings up sooo many wardrobe issues!!

…we somehow missed the sign, even with “the voice” we still ended up on an dead end with a young solider asking
“are we soldiers?”
(…was he being funny?? did we look like Turkish soldiers???! We thought that this was, possibly, not the best time for humour …)
“We are Australians” we said
he replied “We are in the wrong place”
